Promise to Graduate

Although painting is a new fun passion for me, working with middle school students has been my professional passion for 30 years. In 2016, our principal and the team of 8th grade teachers, created a theme to inspire and motivate students.  The theme was Promise to Graduate. Part of that theme included creating a painting for the students to sign.  A painting that would hang in the school as a gentle reminder of their purpose...their goal at school.  The idea was so popular with the students and staff that it has become a continued tradition.

2018  In July 2018, I asked eighth grade students to help design their painting.  The two students pictured below dove into their creativity to design this painting.

2019   In the last week of the 2018-2019 school year, I went to the 7th grade class and asked them to put on their creative thinking caps over the summer.  I planted the seed of inspiration. Now all we shall do is wait until we all return for the 2019-2020 school year to see how they will design their Promise to Graduate. :) I can't wait to see their ideas.
